Joseph Joset was born August 27, 1810, in Courfaivre, of Canton Berne, Switzerland. The youngest of five sons, he saw three of his four brothers also choose vowed Catholic religious life. After completing four years of studies in the Jesuit College at Freiburg, Joset joined the Society of Jesus in 1830 and was ordained ten years later. George Wright was an American soldier who served in the Mexican-American War and the American Civil War. He was born in Vermont in 1803 and died at sea on July 30, 1865. Wright attended West Point and graduated in 1822. He fought in the Mexican-American with the 8th infantry, and after being wounded was given the rank of colonel.
